End of story.

SOPA and PIPA may not pass and you'll feel like you did something, but you didn't. Moving on.

I seriously hope Denver fans aren't thinking they were right about Tebow yet. As if that win vindicated them or something. I mean, yeah, that was great. He pull off 15 points in a little over 5 minutes left in the game. In the clutch, he successfully fought his way out of a paper bag. Really. This was a winless Miami team he had to do that against. A QB worthy of proving right to people would've had that game won by halftime. Instead, Tebow will have to live with the fact that Detroit got themselves a guaranteed win next week.

Carson Palmer performed for the Raiders exactly as I thought he would. Like a rusty QB that only had around 4 days to learn the playbook and know his teammates. If Oakland fans aren't putting any stock into this loss, then they're handling it right. They shouldn't. Palmer wasn't ready to play and it showed. Now, if he performs about the same in two weeks, then there can be some worry. But they'll be playing Denver, so there shouldn't be any problems. While I'm discussing Oakland, can it be considered a small consolation that their transition loss to KC helped make next Monday night's game more interesting to watch?

Wouldn't it be funny if Luck sucked? Everyone who declares Luck a can't-miss prospect and the whole "suck 4 luck" sweepstakes based on accomplishments done in a system that has as much credibility as pro wrestling. Seriously, I keep saying it. College Football performances should always be taken with a grain of salt in comparison to the NFL. And yes, that's basically what I'm saying. College football isn't a real sport. I mean, yeah, he'll come in as the #1 pick for 2012 and yeah, college is all anyone has to go on in determining draft value, but it still means nothing on an NFL field. There's no such thing as can't-miss and the more hype they get, the more likely they are to become a bust. For the team that drafts Luck, I can hope he can be the exception, but I never hold my breath.

You Can't Pull My Song, I Quit

I really want you to read this if you haven't already and chance are, you have:
“After reading hundreds of e-mails, I have made MY decision,” Williams said in a statement to The Associated Press. “By pulling my opening Oct 3rd, You (ESPN) stepped on the Toes of The First Amendment Freedom of Speech, so therefore Me, My Song, and All My Rowdy Friends are OUT OF HERE. It’s been a great run.”

Ok, Hank. I thought it was really and funny of typical Americans to take your Hitler comment out of context. It's natural of them. They have no comprehension skills whatsoever. It's why I understood why ESPN did what they did. I wouldn't have done it and I felt it was too silly of an issue to pull your song over. Still, I understood and I understood that it was nothing to get upset with you over.

However, that quote... erased any possible bad feelings I may have had towards ESPN over this. One of the things that rubs me the wrong way is the misuse of the First Amendment. Here's you lesson, Hank. I'll do my best to use small words. I doubt I'll succeed. The First Amendment protects you from the government. That's it. It does not protect you from having your song pulled by ESPN. It does not protect you from being fired from a job. It does not protect you from being banned from an online forum. It does not protect you from having your songs banned from radio stations. It only protects you from the government. It says, "Congress shall make no law", not "ESPN shall make no rule".

It's ok if you have an issue with an ESPN. If you felt disrespected enough, that's fine. But hiding being the First Amendment that doesn't even apply to this situation, you made yourself a joke.

They're Dumb Enough To Picket Steve At iHop

The Westboro Baptist Church is dumb enough to announce their protest of Steve Jobs via iPhone. Honestly, both entities support what they're supposedly against. It's no surprise. They're controlled by that 1%. They're told to hate the 1% by the 1% because they can tell the protesters how to hate them. Government will naturally pass legislation that'll give the 1% even more power under the guise that it'll hurt them. This will quiet the 99% getting them to believe they accomplished something. After all, government is also part of the 1%. They always will be. The 99% are too stupid to change.

The Wall Street protests is just another in a long list of Status Quo movements that will accomplish nothing except more of the same and keeping the 99% obedient. Wow. And I'm updating this in the middle of the night? Don't ask. I officially miss this place. Not sure where I want to go with this. I spent the last couple years posting blogs on MySpace and I have to admit that my account there went away from what I intended it to be, though I loved the fact that I've been getting comments there.

I sense right now I feel like I can transform this blog into something I couldn't do before (or wasn't wise enough to know). I'm debating if I should keep this one or create a new one and delete this one since I'm starting fresh. Not deciding now since it's 2:30 in the morning. Insanity doesn't always equate to violence like the V Tech gunman did. C'mon. "Thanks to you, I die like Jesus Christ"? As if Jesus mowed down Romans with two handguns before nailing himself to the cross? You see, only a man who has lost all sense of reality can believe The Passion Of The Christ was directed by Quentin Tarantino. Since I'm on this thought, I wonder what would happen if it were directed by M. Night Shyamalan. Probably have John The Baptist be the one to turn on Jesus for money instead of Judas.

Sometimes, you just have to wonder where someone's head's at when they do certain things. His latest soapbox The Culture Of Meanness, explains the Imus firing from a different prespective. Considering he's been in the radio business a long enough time to be well educated on it AND more versed on the constitution than I am (I'm still learning and am willing to learn more as long as it makes sense). I thought I had full knowledge on free speech until he threw this bone.

Don Imus is not being thrown in jail nor charged with a crime for what he did, he is being judged by the marketplace, which is how the system is supposed to work. The Freedom of Speech does not guarantee you the right to be heard or tolerated.
Now while this is similar to my viewpoint, there's enough said there to make me step back a little. I said in an earlier post that they can't dictate what I can hear. I still hold to that, but I think I need to ease off some and allow for some bend.

I've accapted that radio has rules that are very stern and easily punishable. I think the government shouldn't do it, but rather companies, advertisers and listeners should. Punishable by a fine or firing imposed by the company. Pulling out of sponsership by advertisers and boycotts by listeners. I'm not a big fan of boycotts, but they are a form of freedom of speech. If you disagree, then I request you Google "Boston Tea Party". I paused for a moment to do it myself to make sure the first few results weren't porn links. Always want to be safe.

Also, me saying "they no right to dictate what I'm allowed to hear" underminds the very job of the broadcasters. I can't even say that they have no right to dictate what the broadcasters can air since we dictate that by not advertising as well as not listening or watching. What the hell was I thinking when I said that?

I know exactly what I was thinking. I just said it horribly. My issue is this. By whose authority are we to determine what's considered obscene and what's not? Some consider the idea of uttering anything against homosexuality as wrong and therefore not air, yet at the same time, those against homosexuality holds the view of the idea of uttering anything pro-homosexuality as wrong and therefore not air. Which standard do you go by when both view the other as obscene?

Which do you consider more offensive? "Nappy headed hos" or "But I do know that it's true that if you wanted to reduce crime, you could -- if that were your sole purpose, you could abort every black baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down. That would be an impossible, ridiculous, and morally reprehensible thing to do, but your crime rate would go down." said by conservative talk show host Bill Bennett. Consider this. Imus got fired for his comment, but Bill Bennett is on that air. And before you start wondering or consider that Bennett should be fired, think for a moment. What's the difference? Well, Imus' comments was a cheap shot solely for humor which failed miserably. Bennett's comments was an honest opinion that if you can leave your outrage at the door, ask yourself, "Is he right?"

Sure Bennett apologized for that comment, but do you honestly think that doesn't believe it to be true? He only apologized as a result of it upsetting people, but understand the difference in having a viewpoint and making sure you don't ruffle too many feathers with your view. BTW, if you're wonder if I think he's right... well, doesn't matter. To keep from pissing people off, I have to say no, whether I actually agree or not.

Coming back home from that major off-ramp regarding a long ago quote, my point to that is both can be seen as racist comments. However, by whose authority are we to determine what is racist and considered deemed unsuitable to air? If Bennett's comments were to be deemed unsuitable to air, yet be the truth, wouldn't that result in us dictating what people should accept as truth? Are lies airable only because they make people feel good?

Perhaps the comment about not having the right to be heard can be seen as not having the right to the truth if the easily offended suddenly have free reign over what's considered unsuitable to air. Homosexuality, racism, sexism, religion, political leanings, who controls the line?

Follow Up To The Last Post

The responses from those who declare victory over Imus' firing went exactly the way I'd figure it. The liberal lynch mob is in full force with the hypocritical conservative lynch mob defending the first admendment. When it comes to the first admendment, I'll call either politcal side who feels obligated to defend freedom of speech as a hypocrite. In the past, it's been the liberals with that crown. Now, it's the conservative's turn. I say this in general, so if you're the exception to the rule, don't complain. I don't mean you. Unless you're being a hypocrite in saying that, but only you know what you've done.

I need to move on from that rambling.

I read that now the some people want to go after rappers for using the word "ho", which I didn't have a problem with Imus saying and I definitely don't have a problem with rappers saying it. Besides, when it comes to music, rappers and any other artist is able to curse like a drunken sailor whereas on terrestrial radio, that shit doesn't fly. You can't put a double standard here because it's not the same medium. Imus could get away with much worse comments if he recorded them onto a CD. I don't even know I should say "get away with" considering you SHOULD be allowed to say them.

Meanwhile, liberal outlets such as the ever increasingly dillusional Media Matters wants to go after conversative talk radio and get them taken off the air. Media Matters has the right to complain about them, but they no right to dictate what I'm allowed to hear. They are just as insulting, demeaning and racist as those they attack, so they have no right to play God.

However, Juan Cole is able to say things about this Imus firing better than I could.

The right thing to CBS was the bottom line, who fired Imus because it was shrinking. If Imus’s remarks were so obviously a firing offense, the right thing to do would have been to fire him on the spot. But they didn’t, and leave it to the deep thinkers at Tapped to think there is some moral lesson here to be learned.

No one has learned anything from this. No one will learn anything from this. There will be no national dialog on race, other than people babbling that there should be a national dialog on race. Civil rights was not advanced one bit. No chance was given for Imus to make things right, no time was spent evaluating what the best response to this situation might be. It was sheer opportunism all the way around, led by a chorus of self-aggrandizing hacks all too eager to milk the situation for all it was worth. All that has been learned in this whole, sordid affair is that when a flawed man does or says something stupid and offensive, the appropriate thing to do is to try and find a way to get the most profit for yourself, your cause, or your company, and to run with it.

Imus deserved to be fired for this, probably, but he also probably deserved to be fired for any number of statements or sketches over the past dozen years. What makes this last week so obscene is the way this happened, and it says a helluva lot more about us than it does about Imus. Long live mob justice, and I hope none of you ever say anything stupid or offensive, because if you do, may God have mercy on your soul. No one else will.

I'll finalize with a comment in response to Cole's article. To go out humorously. From someone named Captain Avatar:

I demand the Roman Empire pay reparations for the enslavement of my ancestors.

And England must formally apologize for the unlawful, imperialist invasion of Wales during the 13th Century.

And the women of this country have too long abused me by not giving me any play. I mean seriously… what’s up with that ladies? I mean, at least have the decency to not bullshit me. Don’t say “I’ll call you back later” when you know goddamned well you have no intention of doing any such thing. That’s fucked up. I think I was, like 28 years old when I finally figured that out, too. Which was very upsetting.

I’m scarred for life.

I Can't Stay, Imus Be Going

Been a while since this story broke, but I had to collect my thoughts and emotions before stating my view here. I thought what Imus said was tame. Course, that may be out of my own ignorance, or I may be emboldened in that view by the offending party's ignorance. What the offending party, mainly Al Sharpton, is displaying in their reaction disturbs me. He has the right to express that as did Imus his, but the wide acceptance of Sharpton's words (and those who are saying the same things as him) gets me worried of a slippery slope. How soon before they demand people like Imus be imprisoned? To DEMAND a firing, to me, is no different than wanting a prison term.

Right now, the government isn't involved and it should stay that way. Imus has a right to say whatever he wants just like some listeners has the right to complain about it and just like the company Imus works for has the right to fire him for what he said. Freedom of speech protects you from the government, not the company. Besides, firing someone is the company's way of expressing THEIR right to free speech.

Do I feel Imus should be fired? Whether he is or not doesn't affect me. I never listened to him except for once and that one time I thought he sounded way too drunk to be taken seriously as a talk show host. Really. I wondered how he has listeners.

To the Rutgers team: Why the fuck were you crying? "Why would he say such things?" Why do you care? What? Were you rabid Imus fans before that statement? If you thought little of Imus beforehand, there had to be a reason why, right? His slurs should've emboldened your dislike of Imus. A better statement could've been, "I always thought of Imus as a moron. Glad to know how right I was about that." Grow a spine, ladies. I know you girls never listened to his show and never cared to. Shouldn't you feel proud of THAT? Besides, I can think of plenty worse things to say to you than "nappy headed hos" or "Jiggaboos", if I even spelling that right. If I'm not, DON'T CORRECT ME!! I'd like to stay ignorant of the proper spelling of an ignorant word. I may have said worse to you already. I don't know how you think.

To Imus: Nappy headed hos? Jiggaboos? What are you? Five? Or no, wait, you're a drunken idiot. Worse than being merely immature. Listen, my issue is not in what you said, but in wondering how you'd think that's entertaining. My taste in humor has evolved beyond cheap insults. This is why I don't bother with listening to Howard Stern. He's often too blatant and straight-forward to allow room for creativity. There's a difference between Stern and you, though. Stern isn't lazy with his work. Also, why bother apologizing? You have shown yourself to be worthless and weak by putting your foot in your mouth there. Lesson for you. NOBODY CARES ABOUT APOLOGIES!!! Sharpton only mentions that for his supremacist ego stroking and to make you his bitch. Same goes with everyone else who "demanded" you apologize. Apologies are nothing more than a self-demeaning act and I'd figure people in radio would have higher self-esteem than that. I guess that's not the case with you. Glad I don't listen to a coward.

Diary Of A Hump

God bless Alanis Morissette.

Because I Can't Think Otherwise

Just a padding post to say howdy... or something. One of the co-workers commented how Anna's death got more publicity than former president Ford's death and how that was disrespectful to Ford and any other president that had passed on. I jump in to correct the co-worker in that it was not disrespectful to Ford in that it's better to have positive publicity than to have the kind of publicity Anna's getting. In other words, if they were hamburgers, Anna would have 5 hamburgers and Ford would have 1. However, Anna's hamburgers were overcooked in the microwave and Ford's was cooked to perfection by Emeril. Would you still say Ford was disrespected?

Would you want Ford's publicity focus around his baby and whom has the rights to it? How many fathers does Anna's baby have now? 20? How long are we gonna wonder who the father is? Is the father the lawyer? The deceased ex-husband? Officer Barbrady? Chef?

Story 2

I'm convinced that the sports radio talking heads such as Jim Rome are more ignorant than Tim Hardaway. I'm willing to bet Jim Rome's a closet homophobe, but he won't admit to it because that will hurt ratings and he knows it. Tim Hardaway was honest in his homophobic opinion and I respect that. I strongly disagree with his stance, but I respect his honesty.

Did he deserve the backlash? That doesn't matter. You say something the mainstream disapproves of, you should expect backlash. It's not a matter whether it's deserved or not. You express your freedom of speech, they respond accordingly. The NBA did what they felt needed to be done and Hardaway should accept that. Hardaway should be glad he won't be associated with people that would want him to live a lie than to be true to himself.

I won't attack him. I won't call him names and I won't shun him. Good thing, too because it deserves better attention that what I would've given it last night. At least to me it does. USA Today had it's top 10 best ads and top 5 worst ads. Actually, it had all the ads ranked from 1st to last. What I'm gonna do here first off is give you my top 5 list and tell you how it compared to USA Today's list.

#5

I can see people at my job getting married this way. USA Today had this ranked at #6, so cool there.

#4

Main point given for use of the Bugsy Malone end song. A movie I loved as a kid. So warm fuzzies here. USA Today ranked it #21. Understandable. My reason was a warm fuzzy and sentimental.

#3

USA Today has this as the #5 worst ad. This is injustice as this was the coolest ad I've seen in years. I don't recall anything having the awesomeness this ad had. Maybe I'm too weird for this world to comprehend as was that ad.

#2

While I'm not thrilled with it being #11 on USA Today, it is well enough ranked for me not to complain too much. It was great to see those characters back and the mouse being used like that. Poor mouse.

#1

USA Today had this ranked #3 and only the second among my top five to be in their top 10. I love good jokes that come out of nowhere and this one really did it the best.

I have a top 3 worst ads and this is how they compare to the other list. Since they are my worst list, no video will be attached.

#3 - Snicker's man kiss
Garmin gets #5 in their worst list but this piece of shit gets #8 in their top 10 best?? This ad has me swearing off Snickers until this ad becomes a distant past. No matter how much I like a product, I will not go gay for it.

#2 - Doritos - Register lady
When it's so bad I hide my head in shame for watching it, it's really bad. What I didn't like about it? I couldn't figure out where to begin and I already spent enough time on this post to spend another 10 paragraphs on it. This was rated low on the USA Today list, but not in the top 5 worst. Shame on them.

#1 Salesgenie.com
It was thanks to my favorite morning show that I recalled this ad and remembered how much this did not belong in a SB. This belonged during a Jerry Springer ad break. Not here. USA Today has this as the worst and so do I.

BTW, USA Today's #1 and 2 were as follows.
#2 Budweiser - spotted dog
Stupid ad. Among my top 10 worst ads. People who liked this has no taste in quality.

#1 Budweiser- Crabs
Dumb ad, but was just there for me. Did nothing for me.

Super Bowl XLI Thoughts

Billy Joel did the national anthem better than I've heard in years. Miles better than last year's butchering.

First ever opening kickoff return for a TD. And was wise for the Colts to never kick to Vasher since.

Even with the Colts down 7-0 and Manning throwing a pick, you knew the Colts weren't doomed. First, they came back from 18 down against a team that previously owned them. Second, we're talking about Rex Grossman. A guy who didn't deserve to be in the Super Bowl. The rest of Chicago did, though.

What I liked about the Wayne TD pass was that Manning did it under pressure like a great QB should. Very uncharacteristic of Chicago to let him wide open like that. Brain farts should not happen in Super Bowls.

5 fumbles in the first half and twice the fumbles were back to back. I read that this was the first Super Bowl to be rained on. Hard to believe it took that long. I'm still waiting to hear someone tell me I'm wrong there.

Look, Prince. You've been around for a long time. Had many albums and singles. Was there a reason for you avoid your own material like that? It's always been a bug up my ass when artists perform other people's music at a concert or shows such as the halftime show without it being a remake. I listened to a radio station do a mix of a lot of Prince's songs because he was performing for halftime and here we have Prince not even doing his own songs. Though it was nice of him to do Foo Fighter's Best Of You. Was nice to hear a song from this decade without the need for a wardrobe malfunction. Though it would've been much better to hear it from the Foo Fighter's themselves.

Gotta admit. When his back is against the wall, you can count on Grossman to fail. Two INTs with a pick six against him. Manning's INT resulted in nothing. Grossman's sealed the Bear's fate.

Did Manning deserve the MVP? I can say there are at least a couple others that deserved it as much as Manning and ties usually go to the QB, so no quarrels about it. I am so happy for Manning that he finally got that SB ring. Finally winning the big one. Something he needed to be a part of the elite QBs.

Hearing Dungy trumpeting his Christian lifestyle as much as him being the first black coach to win the SB (an inevitable thing since both coaches were black) makes me wonder... is Lovie Smith an athiest?

Will the Colts be back in the SB next year? With them retaining nearly all their top guys, the chance is good, but just because they knocked of the Pats doesn't mean the Pats will stay down. Chargers will be hungrier than ever and no telling what other team may rise. Oakland just needs a nice fine tune on their offense and they can turn around from 2-14 to 14-2 like that. Cincy can get back to top form, if they can stay out of jail.

Will the Bears be back next year? No way in hell. They may not even make the playoffs next year. Next year will belong to the Saints. This year was too soon for them. Next year they will be the most feared team in the NFL.

Boston's Lack Of A Brain

Some time has passed since this "bomb scare" and I really don't have much more to add to this that what's already said by other with the same view as me, but more articulate... or maybe because it's late at night and I'm desperate for sleep, I can't think as well as I usually can.

The funny thing about paranoia is that the more you're consumed by it, the easier it is to be a slave to it. I bet I can bring Boston to their knees with a popsicle stick if I attached LEDs to it. I'm amazed they haven't banned Christmas lights... have they? It's just another reason added upon to the already extensive list as to why 9-11 is the biggest joke ever.

And the people behind putting those ATHF promotional Lite Brites up in 10 cities.... BTW, you can make your typical Trident style joke here. 9 out of 10 cities agree. Lights are our friends... well, ok. 8 out of 10 since San Francisco is part of a state that wants to ban light bulbs. Going back to the beginning of this paragraph, the two guys behind this stunt are facing 5 years in jail for contributing to the retardation of a city and they give the best press conference I have ever seen from all I can remember.

That's correct. I'm probably the last person to weigh in another of a long list of opinions on this. How do I feel about this? Actually, I feel nothing. I'm not dancing in the streets like the neo-con lunatics are nor am I ignoring it like the neo-libs are. I think this post is a given I'm not ignoring it.

Many reasons for not feeling anything.
1) Neo-cons can say all they want on how bad a man Saddam was and they'd be mostly right. Yet, we're worse. Don't reply to me with how Saddam did this and Saddam did that and how evil he is. Picture in your mind how evil Saddam is and with that mental picture firmly in your mind say the following, "We're worse than that". No matter how evil Saddam is portrayed by any pro-war and by any proud American... we're worse than that.
2) The execution was a foregone conclusion. There was no way in hell our government were gonna accept anything other than an execution. There was no such thing as a fair trial for Saddam. Actually, it didn't matter if it was fair or not. The trial was only for show. I'd prefer that Saddam got executed the moment the troops found him. Course, then that would be wasted popcorn neo-cons spent money on upon watching Fox News' Variety Hour. I know that vague as any hour on Fox News can be considered a variety hour. Sure MSNBC has their variety hours, but they don't have that Jerry Springer feel that O'Reilly and Hannity can bring to the table. And we know how big of a following Jerry Springer got.
3) It's actually an extension of #2 as I got off track. As I said, it was a foregone conclusion and with it dragging on for a few years, the payoff was just there. Everything that's going on in Iraq was with the knowledge of this foregone conclusion. He's dead and that changes what? It's like finding a dollar on the street. It's nice, but you're still gonna work at that dead end job with bills keeping their stack up to your eyelids.

If there truly is a positive out of this, it's that it finishes off the theory of threes in the most positive way imaginable. The theory of threes of course is the saying that death comes in threes. We had James Brown die. Then former president Ford. Saddam's death finishes this list off without that third going to someone we actually like and/or respect.

Can't say I never think positive.

Gift Card Bonanza

When given two Visa gift cards for Christmas.... you know... a Visa gift card has to be the most safe way to give a gift. With my two $50 Visa cards, I got on one Volume 1 of Ergo Proxy from Best Buy. The rest of it will be spent at a nice restaurant. I'm eying the Elephant Grill (or is it Elephant Bar... it's an Elephant, I know that).

My other card I practically used all up on Dave's Gourmet products. If I come across one that interests me, I'll put it in.

The Sixth Day Of Christmas

On the sixth day of Christmas, Abvag posts for thee...

Whew. I recently read in a column (nothing new, really, but it did get me to write this) on how our troops, our soldiers overseas are heroes. For just being a soldier. I dislike having the word "hero" whored out like that. For me, being a hero always meant something extraordinary, something beyond what you hear regularly. To be called a hero just for signing your name on a dotted line at a recruitment office speaks to me of ordinary. Plain Jane, regular and what some idiots call "normal". Understand I don't disagree with the column writer about having respect for the troops. I'm not placing the troops on a lower scale than he is. I'm placing the word "hero" on a higher scale than he is. Hero is a special plateau that only a select few can reach, in my view. To see it being used as if it were casual rubs me the wrong way.

Disagree if you want, but that's all a matter of how you define a hero.

Lighthearted Sadness

Sometimes, you can't help but feel down in the dumps when you can't afford certain things. The only thing that didn't?

California's Prop 85. The parental notification measure. I'm pro-choice, but I'm also pro-parent. Pro-parent is how I viewed 85. The reason for it's defeat is the conclusion of child abuse. It's a stupid conclusion. Realistic, but stupid. Stupid because it's an argument that strips the parents the right to be parents for the sake of child safety. This assumes all parents will beat their children for finding out the truth on their daughters. This defeat says that it's ok to lie to your parents. It says that children don't ever have to do what parents tell them to. We've always known it's illegal for parents to disipline their children and this defeat enforces it. Parents, now's the time you must conclude that your daughter is a whore. There are no more princesses in California. They are now all sluts. Deal with it.

Ah-nold wins re-election and I'm glad for that. I didn't vote for him the first time because I felt the recall was unfair. However, this was fair and if I would've voted, I would've went with Arnold as well. Reasons being that Angelides attacked Arnold for supporting George Bush in 04 and for the crap he did in the first 2 years in office. Aside from the dastardly thought that a Republican actually having the gall to support another Republican, I paid attention to the past year of his in office. You know, after that special election he had that humiliated him into submission? That big defeat that humbled him into becoming the governor that the people expected him to be when they voted for him? I would've voted for his re-election with the hope that he would extend that one good year into 5. I'm sure he knows it's that last year that got him re-elected and that he got the hang of the job he's doing.

Democrats taking the House and Senate. A wonderful thing. No, I'm not a Democrat nor liberal. I'm a Libertarian who thinks gridlock is the best thing for America as that means extremist ideas can no longer fly. The Christian dictatorship is out of power.... for at least 2 years. Liberal extremists still can't get into power. The last two years of the Bush Administration may end up being the best two years of Bush Administration as Bush can no longer do whatever he wants. He will actually have to work. But speaking of the Senate...

I don't like George Allen, but he should've went ahead and got the recount. Things decided by that close deserve to be recounted just to be sure. Best to have it done once and be done with it. To concede then if he still lost. I guess he conceded probably because the state law on recounts sucks. Wait nearly a full month before being allowed to call a recount? Nobody has that kind of patience anymore. Not even me.

Of course, at my work today, all the topics above was passed by in favor of discussion of Richard Pombo's defeat. Mambo Pombo, they kept saying. Not sure what it meant except for that it rhymed. If the rhyming was all they were going for, they could've went for the Pombo Combo at Denny's joke. Or maybe I'm the only one with a strange sense of humor.

In Hindsight Of Kerry's Joke

So, it's been a while since the John Kerry botched joke occurred. He's said he's sorry and questions of if it will hurt the Democrats continue to linger. First off, that's sad that Kerry's words would determine the view on some other person. Definitely would prove, again, how stupid we are as Americans. And I don't mean the level of stupidity that some troops pretended to be in response to Kerry. We're dumber than that. And BTW, no fair to those joking troops to make fun of Arkansas like that. Or would that be actually complimenting them?

Anywhoo, Kerry's joke goes wrong because he never learned the meaning of the word "context" and we have liberals defending him because Dubya has done bad jokes at the expense of troop's lives. Not realizing that the liberals are using the same tactic Bush uses when defending torture. Sad when one becomes as bad as the person they despise. Liberals should rejoice in that Kerry apologized and declare that he is a better man that Dubya for taking responibility for his errors. However, their hatred for Bush won't let them do that. They're just using Bush's errors to excuse their own and that's just sinking to the opposition's level.

I mean, I dislike Bush as I've mentioned before, so why should I emulate him?

Showgirl Fetishes?

Maybe I'm missing something, but read this then come back.

Ok? Ok. Now I don't see anything wrong with eyelash surgery, just pointless. Unless you're a woman with bald eyelids, a man's value of a woman has very little, if any at all, with a woman's eyelashes. And some women I can expect to go overboard with this (just like breast augmentations) where they get 12 inch long lashes so that when they blink fast enough, they can fly off to Jupiter. Hell, why not go for the gusto and get them long enough to shelter an entire Ethiopian village?

Aside from all the fun, if any person wants to have this done to them, I won't stand against it. Eyelash surgery sounds tame compared to body piercings, tattoos and Fear Factor. I just won't care enough to say anything. I likely won't notice or care to notice. I Think

I talked in my last post about losing my joy of food. Appearantly, it doesn't seem to be as much of a bother as I thought it might. The reason I say this is because on my own decision (and not because I had to), I stayed away from having anything to eat after supper. Now, I could've had some celery, radishes or carrots, but opted on none because I just didn't feel in the mood to eat. And I don't mean that negatively. It was something that caught me by surprise this morning when I woke up.

I'm still gonna have my depressions over this, but I believe I'll make it through.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://abvag.blogspot.com/2006/10/irony-at-its-finest-i-think.html' title='Irony At Its Finest... I recently got released from the hospital for Cellulitis. Through this stay, I've learned my weight which is something I haven't been able to find out in over a year.

406.

Now, I'm sure the weight is lower than it was when it was taken, but I've got a long road ahead of me. I have to live my life without the joys of food now and for a man like me who hardly has any joys at all, this is a blow to my positivity.

No, that's not right. Perhaps, this is also a realization on how spoiled I am. A realization in how I've sacrificed many joys in life for the perverse enjoyment of food. Now, I'm not gonna be preaching or anything because I hate telling people how to live their lives. I just wanted to talk. Fighting personal demons kinda require this.

Reuniting With A Friend

So how does a Niner fan recover from a 41-0 ass kicking to an 0-2, now 1-2, team? By getting a call from a friend I haven't heard from since March of last year.

How this came about to be such a long span of time is unfortunate. It was in March of last year when I moved from one home to another and I used my friend's number as a reference. I only had his number on a piece of paper and lost it while doing paperwork in finding a new home. I then hoped he'd call before I moved, but no such luck. I attempted to search for his number online, but it led me to wrong numbers, so my search ended quick. His search recently led to my brother whom I need to thank big time for giving him the needed info.

You know, it is hard to cover 19 months of events into an hour long phone call. I think I may be starting a tradition of sorts as I'm prepared to do the same here. Well, sort of. The soapbox this week (I should provide a link in the sidebar if I'm going to refer to it a lot) is one I completely agree with. However, there's one part that got my mind working. Not disagreeing with Rob, but rather using it as a springboard to things I would add my 2 cents on.

This century, the hybrid car has been forced on us with even worse results. Despite what the media would like you to believe, these cars are not selling at all. America is not interested in cars that save the environment they are interested in status and convenience, thank you. The list of examples goes on and on but you get the idea.

First off, I love the idea of the hybrid. If I were to afford one, I'd get one. And it wouldn't be for the environment, but rather for economic viability. Less gas means more money in my pocket to buy porn. Again, I'm not disagreeing with Rob for I have made this apples and oranges. I'm speaking for myself, he was speaking in general. In general, he is right. And if he worded "America is not interested in cars that save the environment they are interested in status and convenience" better, he'd be more right.

There IS interest, but the vast majority refuses to sacrifice status and convenience for it. Hell, forget convenience. It's all about status in the general populace. Until it is possible to dub a hybrid car the Pussymobile, gas guzzling sex machines will continue to rue the day.

Funny how we live in a society where it's acceptable to be a hypocrite (though not acceptable to be called one) and a obsenity to be a virgin. You can find such hypocrasy in every overhormoned guy when they yell about gas being at $3/gal while filling up their 7MPG Love Coaster.

And they say the meek shall inherit the earth.

Baby Is Cranky

Noone has noticed anywhere I've made my presence felt as of late that I've been in a bit of a foul mood. It's likely other things and it foul mood has not been constant.

It's really much ado about nothing, but since I have been feeling this way and since I haven't posted here in a while, I figured why not let this little cat out of the bag. Don't worry about trying to make me feel better. This post isn't about that. That and if I never bothered to post this, noone would've noticed anything.

Maybe I'm bored, too. :-)

Among Tyrants And Cowards

I've talked about a morning show I listen to. The host is someone whose views I respect and sometimes even disagree with them. The one area I most disagree with him on is the war on terrorism. Now I don't blame him for being misguided. Anyone who watched Fox News can easily be so. Same way with anyone who listens to Air America, but the subject here follows the former. This week on the radio show's homepage, in his soapbox (which I enjoy reading whenever he isn't showing support for American tyrants), he talked about five presidents who are most responsible for terrorism today. And just like a neocon, he placed Carter at #1 and Clinton at #2. His order were:
1- Carter
2- Clinton
3- Bush Sr
4- Reagan
5- Bush Jr

Oh, but wait. Just like how a neolib can be right every now and then, so can a neocon because I do agree with Carter at #1. It's Clinton at #2 is where I think is bullshit. Bush Sr and Reagan had more to do with terrorism today than Clinton had. All the same, Clinton's hands isn't exactly clean since I'd place Clinton 4th with Bush Jr 5th. Now I hate Bush Jr with every fiber of my being as I consider him the biggest threat to America in its history, but I should not let that blind me as easy as it can do so. I place him 5th because the list was for those most responsible for it existing today. It had already existed when he took the reigns. Where the problem I have with Bush is that he's going out of his way to make America look like the great Satan our "ememies" are claiming us to be. He didn't plant the seeds of terrorism, he's the plant food and fertilizer allowing it to grow.

The naiveté of some leaders brings us back to the question about why we were attacked on 9/11. The answer is simple; because evil people exist and want to kill us.

That's a simple answer to give, but it isn't the full truth. It's not a lie, just not accurate. Evil people do exist. There are as many of them that are evil as there are of us. The more accurate answer would be more to look at what we did that pissed them off so much. The following is a thought I more agree with than just that they're evil.

There is no proof that Saddam had anything to do with 9/11, but there is plenty of proof that he had plenty to do with Al Qaeda.

The latter is a lie. There is no proof of any connection between Saddam and AQ unless your proof is because Fox News says so.

The liberals are right about how wrong this war in Iraq is. If only they were as on the ball with their solutions. That's where their snag hits. How exactly to do this without looking like cowards or like terrorists. Well, staying the course or anything involving winning the war is certain doom for America. I for one wouldn't want us to become the fourth reich or something like that.

Leaving (cut and run as neocons love to say) would certainly save lives from immediate needless deaths, but would also show us as irresponsible. Forget the talk about us looking like chickens running with our tails tucked between our legs. That's bullshit. However, let's keep the word "cowards" and apply it differently. Imagine someone coming over to your house and makes a complete mess of your home. After that, that person regrets messing up your home and decides to leave, but tells you to clean up the mess. We do need to leave, but under the right circumstances and currently, both options on the table are the wrong ones.

Correction From Last Post

It has come to my attention that an error has been made in my previous post. These type of trends are supposed to stop at white people, but no. Thanks to Eminem, things have to go further to make people say, "What the fuck?"

My biggest fear is that MTV will catch wind of this and create a spinoff reality show, Pimp My Pet. "Fido's stunner shades is sure to get all the bitches on his block." All the while showing Fido rolling down the sidewalk in little doggie rollerblades with spinners on the wheels. Meanwhile, Fido's owner is translating his barks as if he's saying how hyphy he is when actually Fido is saying "How the hell do I get these damned wheels off me???"

Hey, if the owner could make asinine assumptions of doggie language, I can, too.

This just in, Sebastian just lost 3 of its 9 lives in a drive by shooting.

I'd Kill For An Egg McMuffin

Read then come back.

Got it?

Ok.

What the hell do they put in those Egg McMuffins? Is it the McGriddles that are doing it? No matter. The thing to learn here is that this depraved act is nothing new. This isn't any sign that we're becoming MAD. Around the time when I first started working at Paramount's Great America (before Paramount took over... we're talking 20 years ago) in Santa Clara, that theme park has had riots started because of people cutting in line. In those old west Time Life books from long ago, I remember the ad for those books well. "He once shot a man for snoring too loud." I wonder what he would've done if that guy cut in front of him for hash browns.

The funniest part of the story is this.

The suspect faces charges of aggravated assault and making terroristic threats, the paper reported.

OMG!!! The suspect is an America hating muslim!!! We need to send 50,000 troops to take that cretin out pronto!!! I know she's a muslim because if she wasn't, they would've said "death threats".

Yes, that was sarcasm. Put your anger away... unless you're still angry. Like I'm out to please everyone. Still though, I am really starting to hate the overuse of the word "terrorism". It's on the verge of having the same lack of value as "sexual harrassment". If it's not there already.

Papujo

I've called him The Company Cassanova. I AM a junkie, but it wasn't crack I needed.

Plasma's Still Safe For Now

Very cool advancement of technology, but this does need more work if it's to compete with the clarity that plasma TVs provides. For it to be official, one would have to sit back and think, "Well, I'll be damned."

Irony does not define itself any better.

And what should this mean to all those who loved N'Sync and Bass? NOT A DAMN THING!! If it does, then you'd be quite the shallow person. Why should it matter if an artist or performer is gay? If I like someone's music, then find out he or she is gay, that doesn't mean the music suddenly sucks. I don't know about you, but I separate music and lifestyle. I don't care if Michael Jackson touched boys (ok, I care in the sense that if he did or were ever to actually do, I'd like to see justice do its job), Off The Wall is still a kick ass album. To hate someone's music because of their lifestyle is no different than liking someone's music because they have great hair. You're judging music based on something that has nothing to do with the music at all. This kind of pathetic judging, image over substance is why the majority of mainstream music to me sucks.

Could It Be Worse?

First 105.
Then 110.
Then 115.
And today I had to work under the sun all day... and it was back to 105. Now, with all my complaining, I know there are a lot of people who work in much harder conditions in this heat and sun. You see, my mind is crazy. My body keeps telling my mind to fuck off. How these people are able to do hard labor in this kind of heat is amazing to me. Mainly because I couldn't last 1 minute doing what they do. I'm talking construction workers, PG&E on-site workers, etc.. Not one minute. All I did today was scrape numbers off of cars.

Why did I bring that up? I got on the onramp to I-205 behind a car. Bit of traffic upon merging, but I noticed two big openings. One in front of a car and one behind it. I tried to get in the gap in front of the car with the car in front of me, but decided as I got closer that it would be better to take the gap behind it. About a half mile later, the car I got behind decided not to pay attention to the road and smashed HARD into the car in front.

The car the got hit had the trunk moved up into the back seat, the back window smashed into a thousand pieces and I only hope they were alright. About a mile later, it dawned on me that had I decided to race in front instead of relaxing into the merge like I did, it would've been ME who would've been smashed into. Patience does have its rewards sometimes.

Things Made From Pork

There's little one can do when driving an hour to work each morning with only an FM stereo to keep company. Especially when the radio stations pretty much suck. I've gotten into listening to a local morning show (Rob Arnie & Dawn) which deserves to be national, but they know they'd jump the shark if they did that. Keep the pleasure underground. Makes lots of noise and fuck the world. Talk radio in full glory. However, saying all that is derailing me from the point of this post.

They (meaning only Rob and Arnie) did a top 5 list this morning of things made from pork. The list was as normal as I would expect, except for Rob's number 3. Prosciutto. When he said this, my ears perked up and if I were a dog, people would've noticed. Aside from the image of a dog driving. Let's stay focused here.

I never heard this one before. I knew there's a lot of things I have yet to discover (in other words, pay attention to), but I wouldn't have thought to discover one in a top 5 list. As such, this is something I need to buy and try. Not many things ignite my creative mind, yet it's not quite so few and far between. This video came out the same year I started my internet obsession. 1997. Honestly, 1997 feels like it was 3 years ago instead of the 9 it actually is. Even so, this is something I never saw until around 3 years ago in which amazes me I even saw it in the first place. He'd write part one to be played out one week and the next part the following week.
